Utilization of Compressed Sampling for PAPR Reduction in OFDM IEEE-802.11a System

Being spectrally efficient, easily implemented, and highly immune to selective channel imperfections multipath fading, the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) can provide a sufficiently robust high data rate modulation technique for emerging wired wireless telecommunication applications. However, major drawback of OFDM that is represented by its Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) transmitted signal, which leads degrade systemâs transmission accuracy. In this paper, Compressed Sampling (CS) based approach considered reducing PAPR without lowering capacity or affecting Bit Error Rate (BER) performance. The proposed scheme adds sampling stage after IFFT block in transmitter side, compressively represents signal fewer symbols instead original signal. At receiver received sampled then recovered before FFT following Basis Pursuit (ðµ1ânorm) algorithm. shows an enhanced BER performances while preserving rest system performance aspects.
